About Current Transformers
Current transformers are used to multiply or reduce alternating currents in situations where the primary voltage is too high to be measured or used directly. CTs produce secondary voltages that are proportional to the current of the primary and they are used extensively in both circuit protection and metering processes. There are three types of commonly used current transformers: window, bar, and wound.
