This SM300 Series SUPERPROX Ultrasonic Proximity Sensor is part of the Hyde Park Ultrasonic Sensors product range. The SM300 can detect positive stop and true home positions for servo control systems and tool and parts presence in automated CNC centers and assembly equipment. It is suited for sensing part and pin presence, die open and close detection in stamping, plastic injection molding, and die casting applications. It is an ideal solution where traditional proximity sensing methods cannot reliably detect the large variety of materials running through the process or are limited by sensing range. The sensor is a self contained, pulse-echo, proximity sensing device that both transmits and receives sonic energy over a 4in (101.6mm) sensing range with fixed sensing window from 0.25in (6.3mm) to 4in (101.6mm). The response time is 4ms. The sensor accepts 12VDC to 24VDC power and provides a normally open discrete PNP output along with two detection status LEDs. It is a flat profile sensor of ULTEM plastic with a remote M8 3-pin male connector on a 6in (152mm) pigtail. It is suitable for packaging, automotive, food and beverage processing applications. The sensor is compliant with CE and UL standards and NEMA 4X (indoor use only) and IP67 rated. The Hyde Park ultrasonic sensors operate in diffuse, reflex and thru beam modes. This range of sensors even includes long distance detection models.
