The Lutron Maestro Dual Technology Motion Sensor Switch uses both ultrasonic waves and passive infrared (PIR) technology to ensure reliable automatic sensing for a single circuit. This vacancy sensor switch is single pole only and rated to control up to 6A of lighting or 4.4A (1/6HP) fan motors. The sensor has a 180-degree field of view (900 sq ft major motion & 400 sq ft minor motion coverage) and is covered with a tamper resistant lens. It can be used to meet many of the Title 20/24, ASHRAE 90.1, and IECC code requirements such as automatic shutoff. Press the tap switch to manually turn the light ON and let dual-technology sensor will turn the lights OFF automatically when the room is vacant. This sensor is built with Lutrons Dual Sensing Technology (PIR and ultrasonic) to detect very fine motion, such as typing at a desk or reading, ensuring lights do not turn off inadvertently. Lutron Maestro Sensors have an adjustable timeout (1, 5, 15 or 30 minutes), to control how long the lights stay on after leaving the room. Lutrons, patent pending, adaptive zero-cross switching algorithm extends and maximizes the relays life by switching at the point of minimum energy on the AC power curve. Easy to read programming buttons are directly on the sensor switch. Available in 10+ colors. Pairs perfectly with Lutron Claro wall plates for consistent color matching (sold separately).
